Jim and Christa are an awesome and s u p e r fun couple, so planning this wedding was a blast from start to finish! Christa is from Florida and Jim is from Boston, and Charleston is known as “the Boston of the South” – no brainer on the location choice! The beautiful couple was married on September 7, 2013 at Lowndes Grove Plantation in Charleston S o u t h Carolina!
It could not have been a more perfect day, from sun up to sun down the weather was lovely. And the warm breeze from the mossy water was the icing on the cake. When a wedding is set in Charleston the first thing that comes to mind is southern, low country, and delicious f o o d !! And that was the main focus of this southern wedding. Christa and Jim were a huge part of choosing the perfect menu for their day. The are foodies and wanted to select a menu that reflected their favorite foods and personalities. The menu was full of southern goodness like shrimp n’ grits edible spoons, a raw bar, and fried green tomatoes.
Christa and Jim’s wedding was chalk-full of elegant and simple details, white decor and grey accents. A stunning view and c h a n d e l i e r s over the eating area and the dance floor created an intimate ambiance. The Vera Wang bridesmaid dresses were a lovely shade of grey, and HER gown…. a m a z i n g . An absolutely breathtaking gown by Mark Zunino from Kleinfield Bridal NYC. The boys wore classic black tuxedos from Joseph A. Bank and looked like true southern gentlemen.
A close family friend offered to do the florals for the guest tables and they were so simple and elegant – Christa’s style. She used a combination of tulips, dusty miller and romantic candlelight to create the brides’ vision. The bouquets were beautifully done by Gayla at Tiger Lily Weddings, full of tulips, dusty miller, and ivory garden roses. As soon as the sky turned the prettiest shade of pink after sunset – the p a r t y began! This group of guests was super fun and danced the night away to the Masker Band! The photos are something for the books, thanks Mikhail!
I had such a wonderful experience working with this fun-loving couple and am blessed to have been a part of their day, and now call them friends. Thank you to all of the wonderful vendors that made this day possible. e n j o y .
