Happy Wednesday!! Earlier this month we took a vacation to the west coast with my family ! It was so nice to have a few days away from the computer and enjoy some quality memory making time! We did a few days in San Francisco and then a few days in Napa Valley (eek!).
While in San Fran, we ate good food, did tons of tourist-y things like going to Lombard Street [ the crookedest street ], and taking a boat trip around Alcatraz and under the Golden Gate Bridge! Our final night in this super neat city, we went to a SpeakEasy!! This was one of the coolest experiences. We went to a well-known place called Bourbon and Branch and we were not disappointed! Needless to say – we had an awesome time exploring this city and trying new things [ ie – my husband ate chocolate covered worms. ]
On our way out of town on the way to Napa Valley, we saw some red woods and we were on our way to wine country ! Our first vineyard was Bolen Family Estates. Y’all, this place was stunning and super fun. We got the chance to go into their wine cave and taste wine out of the barrel. so. cool.
Sidenote : our whole family really enjoys good wine and learning about good wine so
this was such a wonderful experience.
Anyway, after we did a few tastings we took a little break so everyone could walk around and see everything. While this was happening I snuck outside in the middle of the vineyard to get set to take sneaky photos of the surprise engagement that was getting ready to take place. Meanwhile, George (my sisters now fiancé) was bringing my sister outside to take a photo with the gorgeous backdrop. And then it happened.
MY LITTLE SISTER GOT ENGAGED IN NAPA VALLEY!
We were all so excited and cannot wait to get the planning started! We will be documenting the planning process on our blog so please follow along.
While we were in Napa Valley we went to some absolutely amazing and stunning vineyards ! Some of our favorites were : Bremer Family Winery, Silver Oak, Falcor and Black Cat Vineyard! I would highly recommend taking a trip out to wine country if you have not yet been. We are already planning our next trip back.
Here are some photos from the engagement :
